May. 28th, 2006 11:08 pmI survived buyback!
Buyback = period of time in which we buy back books from the students.
And I basically worked a 50 hour week, 90 percent of which was spent on my feet. And then my dad gets upset at me for not wanting to do much when I get home.
But I did go to the gym twice this week and have started really working on getting my sleep cycle back on track. I've also made an adjustment or two with breakfast and that's helped a lot too. I ended up having to go to get weighed in at Weight Watchers Saturday morning because the evenings were too busy and I lost 4.4 pounds this past week. So, I'm going to keep on keepin' on with this stuff and see if I can have a repeat performance the next time I go.
When my dad started bitching me out a bit last night about not doing much, I couldn't help but think, "I do not think the word relax means what you think it means." I had had to get up early for a book thing (it wasn't a signing) for graduation, then ran some errands, then went over to help a lady in my church with some yard work and got home by 11:30 am. Spent most of the rest of the day working on laundry, making some spaghetti sauce, watching a bit of a movie (which I didn't really like, so hence, a bit), reading some fic, and then watching the finale of House (which - whoa!). And this was before having to go out again last night to do another book signing. I wish I had known about the mark on my shoulder from lugging around about 40 or 50 pounds of books and such *by myself* from the back of the Bob Carpenter Center to the front and then upstairs, and then back down and to the other end of the home side of the stadium so I could have shown it to him. And my shoulder still twangs a tiny bit.
I've started reading a book called Healthy Selfishness by Rachael and Richard Heller. I figured it might be useful in helping me get some much needed balance back into my life, or at least that's what I'm hoping.
But, on an upside - I have been reading some really good fic and I've been watching SG-1 season 9. (I'm now up through 9.8 "Babylon" for those of you keeping score.) And I may even start writing again at some point in the near future.
soft_princess - You are *so* getting this SV romance novel zine when I'm done with it! Oh, and btw, are you anywhere near finishing up with Galileo part deux?
nakedwesley - I'll email you tomorrow, but it looks like the place is about 2 hours and 45 minutes away from my place and I get off work at 5 on Thursday.
