1. I was reading an article in "Men's Fitness" about Paul Walker and his fitness routine and there was a bit about his background and how he had signed up for the military for the Gulf War and he was bragging about it and his dad (who had served in Viet Nam) was like, "You say that one more time, I'm going to knock your ass out, nail you in a crate and ship you to Canada."
2.a. And on the topic of dads...mine can be rather amusing some of the time. Wednesday night, after reminding me that he was going out Thursday after work, he was like, "So, can you set the VCR to tape 'The O.C.' premiere for me in case I don't get home in time?"
2.b. When were at the movies that were being shown on campus (The Longest Yard remake and Mr. and Mrs. Smith), "The Simpsons" was being shown beforehand as people were coming in and when it cut to a commercial break, there was one for "Bones" and my dad's like, "Isn't that Angel?" and I was like, "Yeah," and he was like, "But he's in a show."
3.a. The Longest Yard remake and Mr. and Mrs. Smith were both enjoyable. And for those of you who've seen the latter, can I say how much I loved the car chase with the van?
3.b. I'm positive that the whole prison setting is now a kink for me. Between the Longest Yard remake, "Prison Break", and Bent Justice, I'm a gonner.
3.c. Speaking of the Longest Yard remake, I think I need to be smacked now. Because now I want to write a fic with an Adam Sandler character in it. I never thought I'd see that day. Besides, I have *way* too many other fics that need writing.
4.a. I've rented the first disc of season 1 of "House" and had a mini-marathon of the first six episodes. So far I like it. I'm not in love with it yet, but I'm definitely enjoying it. Need to watch the other two episodes on the disc in the morning and hopefully the second and third discs will be back by the time I take it back.
4.b. When I was in Blockbuster renting it, the guy ringing me up (who was new) was like, "Can I see your ID?" and I was like, "I'm sorry, I don't have it on me, I'd have to go get it." (I've never needed it before, so I had left it in my truck.) And the guy was like, "Well, it says here that you need to show your ID." And one of the managers was checking in some movies and was like, "Don't worry about it, she's in here all the time." And I'm pretty sure that the warning got taken off. :-P (The account used to be my mom's but a couple years ago she decided she didn't want it, so just gave the card to me.)
5. GIP! I got this one and two others from
soft_princess, plus I got two other new ones - one from
lunanne and another from somewhere else. So, go check them out.
