slashiest weekend ever...
Mar. 15th, 2004 12:02 am...or at least for the moment.
It started Friday night with my dad and I going to see one of the movies shown on campus - Master and Commander. If you haven't seen the movie, what are you waiting for? If you have seen the movie - Aubrey/Stephen, need I say more? (And I think the music scenes were just one *big* *honkin'* *euphemism*.) I had a hard time not saying anything about it to my dad.
Then yesterday my mom and I went to see a show called A Few Good Men...DANCIN'. It's an troupe of 15 guys from different places like the Cirque du Soliel and the Joffrey Ballet doing a number of different dance routines. Very cool. And after the show, we were talking about it and my mom said something to the effect of, "I liked it, but John (her new husband) would've thought it was gay." And I pressed her about it later and her thoughts on it, and she was actually really cool and stuff. (This coming from a woman who spazzed out when she found out a guy friend of mine was gay - she actually told me then that she thought that he was going to make me gay.) She was like, "I don't care if they're gay and they probably all are." And I was just like, "Well, statistically, sure - I'm sure a couple of them are gay." And she was like, "I'm sure they all are. What did you think?" And I was just like, "Well, it did have some homoerotic moments." Then she gave a slight snerk. I thinik she was amused by the fact that I used the term 'homoerotic' and maybe even the fact that I knew it.
And I was watching tv last night and I saw Thom's new Pier 1 commercial. I like it a lot better than Kirstie Alley's commercials (though I didn't mind hers too much), but it felt a bit like Carson had taken over Thom's body or Thom was channeling him or something. And those of us who watch "Queer Eye" are probably all going, "Thom's not *that* flamboyant." But I liked it.
Then today was "Celeste in the City". Nicholas Brendon playing a gay guy. Yeah. I actually enjoyed it. Thought it was a cute piece of fluff. (Even if I do object to how stereotypically gay Dana and his friends were, I know a gay guy like that and I think that the writers/whoever were trying to make a point, so the point(s) was(/were) taken.) Plus, it also had Ethan Embry, so I can't complain too much.
Also saw the Pier 1 commercial again.
And in non-gay news - watched the priemere of "Wonderfalls" today. I liked it. I hope it stays. Though I'm very afraid it won't.
I was watching "Alias" tonight - don't worry, I highly doubt you'd get what I'm talking about unless you've seen tonight's ep. You know the main evil dude? He looked almost *exactly* like my mom's John. It was very freaky. Whenever he was onscreen, I just kept staring at him.
