Woohoo. I only had to go into work for about 2 hours today and I didn't even really do anything. Got to hang out for the rest of the day and do practically sod all.

And I actually worked on a bit of my Gunn/Giles fic. I'm about half to three-quarters of the way through it and I don't feel very good about it. Well, it's okay enough, but it feels very bare-boned and fast to me (tempo-wise). So it might have to go through a revision or two before I even let my betas see it. ([livejournal.com profile] nakedwesley and [livejournal.com profile] spikesleman, are you two still interested in betaing it for me?)

Did do some preliminary searches for a challenge fic I might write next. Still debating whether or not I'm going to write it, though. The challenge plot bunny really bit me in the butt, but the subject matter's one that's a borderline squick for me. (It doesn't set off any major alarms, but it definitely makes me uncomfortable.) But at the same time, the one WIP (which has never been finished) that I read about a year or so ago and the bits of other stories that I've read that deal with the topic don't seem to be that great a quality, so part of me has gone into the whole, "Anything you can do, I can do better" mentality. I know that I'm not the greatest writer (that honor goes to people like [livejournal.com profile] wesleysgirl, [livejournal.com profile] wolfling, [livejournal.com profile] piedmargaret, [livejournal.com profile] magpie and that lot), but I still think that even if I totally mucked up the challenge, it might come out somewhat decent. Well, we'll see.
