May. 29th, 2007 12:09 amHad a great time this weekend with
eternalmusings. Went by too quickly, but these sorts of things always do.
Friday night, we just hung out and talked fannish stuff - which we laughed at the amusement of all the acronyms and such - and watched some tv.
Saturday, we slept in (which I sorely needed) and then headed out to see Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End. I did enjoy it immensely. I love Hans Zimmer, like whoa.
eternalmusings and I both agree - best. wedding. ever. But there were a few things that I wasn't completely happy with. I need to see the movie a second time before I can really comment on them. After stopping at the grocery store,
eternalmusings made dinner and we watched some SG-1 and SGA and Kinky Boots - which is kind of like Full Monty meets Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. And Chiwetel Ejiofor (the Operative from Serenity) is in it and in drag and it works!
Sunday, we slept in again (are we seeing a theme here?) and headed out in the early afternoon to D.C. to visit the National Air and Space Museum because
eternalmusings had never been. It was lots of fun and rather amusing with all the SGA comments we were making. (And I got a plot bunny for a fic! Though I then decided that I could probably fit it into a fic I'm planning on writing already.) The only downsides were that it was rather humid, as well as hot, outside, and that at least half of the people in D.C. seemed to be in the museum. After we got back and cleaned up and I made dinner (with comments by
eternalmusings about how domestic we are), we shared vids we liked on youtube and watched last week's eps of SG-1 and SGA.
Today, we got up a little earlier (but not by much, I don't think) and we watched Brokeback Mountain, since
eternalmusings hadn't seen it. Then I headed home. Thankfully, traffic wasn't an issue - there was a steady volume, but it kept moving. But, as soon as I got on I-495, I got an idea for a PotC3 fic. Grr.
And once I was back in town, I stopped at Staples and got a wireless adapter for my laptop. The plan is to get a real one to go into my computer, but to wait a month or two, since I just replaced the hard drive on the warranty and we don't want them to get suspicious. (The warranty doesn't cover accidents.)
So far, the laptop recognizes the adapter and all, but the router doesn't. *bangs head on desk* Anyone have any ideas? We have verizon fios.

Date: 2007-06-01 09:23 pm (UTC)Rather than doing something that's perhaps a little underhanded, a safer and more honest alternative would be to buy the part you need from our spare parts division and then install it yourself. You wouldn't be breaking your warranty by doing so, and any unrelated problems you have in the future will still be covered.
Our service depot can be somewhat trigger-happy when it comes to making the determination that spill damage is the cause of the problem, and since we monitor blogs as well to outreach to those who need help, your pronouncement here is a matter of public record ;-)
