May. 14th, 2007 12:11 amFriday,
libralyte and I met up with Beth and we went to Northeast, MD. We had a good time looking in the shops and Beth picked up some Mother's Day gifts for her mom and her sister-in-law. It was a little weird when we went through the antiques store because I saw a set of dishes and some Christmas ornaments for sale that my grandparents still use. When we got back into town, we went to Home Grown for dinner.
libralyte was cute - as we were looking over the menu, she was like, "There are too many options! Why can't they give us one or two? That's what we're used to!" See, she's vegetarian and practically everything on the menu could be made vegetarian or vegan, if it wasn't already. After dinner, we went down to Coldstone and got some ice cream.
Yesterday, we went to Cheeseburger in Paradise, which
libralyte had been to before and thought I'd like. It was good and I even got to try her yummy Key Lime Martini. Afterwards, we went to Borders again and I ended up getting a copy of Carbon Leaf's "Indian Summer" cd. (And apparently, they don't give change on their gift cards, so I still have a couple dollars left.) We also spent some time looking at some books and I got some ideas for a fic that I want to write. As we were waiting in line for me to pay, Henry Winkler (yes, The Fonz), started a talk he was giving prior to a signing of his new kids book. So we got to hear a bit of that. And he seems like a lot of fun, but we didn't stay. Before heading home, we went to the mall, which is basically right next door to Borders and got some more tea drinks. This time
libralyte got a hot white tea, which she seemed to really like, so I'll have to keep it in mind and I got a mix of a peach-flavored red tea and a strawberry-kiwi flavored tea as an ice tea. It ended up tasting a bit like fruit punch, but in a really good, non-sugar shock kinda way. Though, I think in the future, I'm going to let it steep longer. When we got back to my place, we kind of looked at each other and were like, "what do you want to do?" "I dunno. What do you want to do?" So we decided to go see Hot Fuzz again. And it was still a lot of fun. And it was rather amusing to be there with a packed theatre that was really enjoying it.
Today we visited my mom for Mother's Day. And between what
libralyte and I saw, and what my dad told me from what my brother told him, she's really rather depressed from the fire. Ahd, apparently - according to my dad, it's completely up to me to do everything in my power to help her get better. (And it's practically implied even if that means physically dragging her out.) Now, I realize that there's only so much I can do and she did get her meds changed a couple weeks ago, and I know that it's going to take a while for them to really go into effect. From there, we met up with Beth for lunch at an Italian restaurant that was between my mom's house and Beth's house. After an enjoyable, and very filling, meal,
libralyte and I came back to the house and hung out for a bit before she finished packing up and I drove her home.
I came back and my dad was home from his trip going to Savannah, Charleston, and the Outer Banks with his parents and their trailer for nine days, so we told each other how our weeks were. And I got him to agree,
libralyte!
So, now I'm watching Friday's SG-1 and SGA and wishing I didn't have to get up so early.
