Nov. 27th, 2006 12:50 amI'm glad everyone's Thanksgiving holiday went well.
Thursday we had dinner at my paternal grandparents', as per usual. We had the usual meal of turkey, corn, lima beans, mashed sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, home made stuffing, and for dessert - home made pumpkin and pecan pie.
Friday we went up to visit some of the paternal cousins for a "second Thanksgiving". It was nice, since I haven't seen them since last year. And when my grammy was telling a story about this kid from a few years ago, she was like, "He had bright red hair and his name was Michael Murphy. How Irish can you get?" And I couldn't help but giggle and think of Joe Flanigan saying, "He looked like trouble, so I named him Fergus. (goes into an Irish brogue) 'Fergus Flanigan!'"
Yesterday (Saturday), my dad sniped at me when we got out of a movie because I was "sneaking candy". A) I wasn't sneaking - I didn't want to disturb anyone. B) The movie was at 4:30, I had eaten lunch at about noon, we were going to dinner after a two and a half hour movie, so I wouldn't be getting food for another 45 minutes or so after the movie ended. C) I think my dad was just snippy that I didn't give him any. D) It was *three pieces* of Hershey's *nugget-sized* chocolate. You'd've thought I had eaten three king-sized candy bars.
But we saw Casino Royale. And my dad did like it a lot and I enjoyed it for a second time. And I had to giggle that my dad had a more verbal response to seeing Bond looking at himself in the mirror after putting on a tailored dinner jacket than upon seeing the Bond Girl in a slinky dress.
I watched Curious George last night - which was cute. Today I watched Keep Your Distance - which was actually pretty good. Not sure if I'm ready to go back to work yet.
