Spent most of today with
anaidiana and her mommy. We went and saw Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. You all should definitely check it out. (And for all you music geeks - Hans Zimmer did the music.) We also watched Galaxy Quest - which I had never seen, yet enjoyed immensely. (And especially after going to Shore Leave a couple years ago.) I also tried to pimp her into "House" with the episode "Damned if You Do", but the medical shows just ain't her thing. (Which is cool, though if I'd have known we'd only watch one episode, I think I'd have gone for "Three Stories" instead. Ack, vell.)
I also got to see Serenity for the third time with my dad this week. No actual spoilers this time, just a couple of comments. Even if Joss had to make this movie more uninitiated-friendly, it still felt like Joss. I still had an actual physical reaction to the you-know-what, but not as much as the second time I saw the movie. The first two times I saw the movie, I was a little upset that the music wasn't more twangy. But then it hit me this time that the violin/fiddle is actually quite reminiscent of the scoring for The Glass Menagerie, which given the mood, etc., of the movie is actually quite fitting.
I've been writing *a lot* lately - which is good since a) I have a list of fics I want to write that must be a mile long and b) NaNo starts in a couple weeks (ahhh!). I just *might* survive it. :-P

Date: 2005-10-16 02:27 am (UTC)I love "Galaxy Quest" SOOO much. Especially since I've done a Con or two.
I also love "House." Jim hates it. Weird.
((hugs)) on principle.

Date: 2005-10-16 04:56 am (UTC)Yeah, I think that being at cons definitely adds to the whole viewing experience for that movie. It's one thing to know about the cons and that sort of fen in a vague, theoretical way and something else entirely to see them up close and personal.
Yeah, to each their own with tv viewing pleasures.
*hugs* :-D
