Quotage and gym update
Nov. 2nd, 2004 10:33 pmCurves: -2.5 inches (-22.5 total since 12/19/03)
WW: -1.4 pounds (-35.2 total since 7/26/04)
So, obviously, things are still going good. After my dad gave me a hug Sunday night, he was like, "Your shoulders are getting bony." (And so is my collarbone.) The weird/scary/cool part is that I hit the quarter way mark today. (Well, technically the quarter way would be 35.5, but that's splitting hairs at this point.) I'm still amazed/astonished/etc. that I've been able to keep up with this for three and a half months when my previous record for a diet was about two and a half weeks. I'm really thankful that God finally pushed me to Weight Watchers. And that I have so many friends who are also doing it so I can talk to people about it who understand.
I've also started doing a little webpage so I can visually keep track of how things are going. (I am *such* a visual person/learner.) So, if any of you are interested, I'll be udating it from time to time when I hit different goals and I'll let you all know. (The next time will probably be when I hit 50.) The link is also over on the right side of my LJ.
Quotage:
From Joss Whedon (in the newest Buffy newsletter) - "If you're going to be a writer, it's because you need to, which means that you're writing all the time. It means that when you're finished writing, what you do to relax is write something else. I know a lot of people who think they can write, although the real writers that I know need to write. That's something different and something you have to find out."
- I don't know about the rest of you, but this is *so* true for me. I'm always writing and it's just something that I need to do.
Also from Joss (and same place) - "At the beginning of Season 7, I thought up this thing where in the third-to-last episode before things got really funky in the final episode, Buffy was going to get one wish, one completely reality-altering thing that she could have. She could bring Angel back to her, she could do anything she wanted--what could she do for herself with that one wish? At the end of the episode, she goes to Willow and says, 'Look at these shoes I got! I always wanted them and now I have them.' And Willow's like, "You used your life-altering wish for shoes?" And Buffy says, 'Of course not, you idiot' and walks out of the room. Then Willow turns around and Tara's standing there."
- This would've been really cool. I'm such a hopeless romantic and this would've been great.
From David Navarro (in the newest issue of the "Advocate") - "I've tried to dabble in that (the gay) world and it's just not me. I"ve never been sexually aroused by a man. But I have yet to kiss Johnny Depp, so you never know..."
- LOL. Seems like people are finally seeing the wonderousness that is Johnny.

Date: 2004-11-02 08:10 pm (UTC)I'm so happy for you.
The great thing about WW is that it is a good way to eat forever. It's not a "quick fix" and it's not a "diet" but it's a whole and healthy lifestyle.
*sigh* The way the voting seems to have gone (my candidates for Senator and for House of Representatives have both lost.....crap!!!) I need all the cheery happy news possible.
So yay for you!!!
And I love the quotations.

Date: 2004-11-02 09:47 pm (UTC)True, WW is a diet in that sense. In the "I'm going on a diet tomorrow" or "I went off my diet" sense, not so much.
I've gotten so that even when I don't intend to count points, I count them. Maybe you and I will be doing "core" with the no-counting by the time we hit our lifetime goals.
Of course, by the time I hit my lifetime goals, we could have President Chelsea Clinton in the White House. *big sigh*

Date: 2004-11-04 08:38 pm (UTC)Hey, then we'll have a woman in office! Which I'm sure will definitely be of the good. But, hey, it may seem like a long time away, but at least there's a timeline there. :-D
