I want to be like my paternal grandparents when I grow up. My granddad is 82 and my grammy is 81.

Currently, they're down in Florida with my dad on their annual road trip. (This is the fourth year they've taken their camper-trailer and set out somwhere for a week and a half.) This year they decided to go to the Florida Keys. On the way down, they stopped in and saw my maternal grandparents, who live in St. Augustine, FL, before going down to the Keys for a few days.

They're in Orlando now and will be for the next few days because my grandparents also decided that they wanted to go to Disney World, since it was the last time they were going to get to do it.

My dad's been emailing my brother and I pictures along the way. One, from yesterday, has my grandparents - my granddad's holding a bucket and my grammy's looking worried. And the other has my dad with the bucket on the side of the picture crouched down with a pelican. And yesterday he sent this little note along as well:
This turned into a hoot and a cut hand...

This place is called the Hungry Tarpon. Little eatry, we had a great lunch and then went out back to feed the Tarpons and the Pelicans, For $1.00 you get out on the docks and $2.79 a bucket of sardines, big. The pelican was the gate keeper to get past first.

On the second sardine to the Pelican I couldn't help myself and had to hang onto the sardine and had a little tug of war with it.Iit turns out I got a bloody paper type cut on the thumb muscle, he had that much in his bill before he got it....

O yea, the Tarpons are huge fish, some look to be 5' long that jump out of the water to grab the sardine in a big splash, you let go of that real fast or throw it.

In spite of the cut hand, that sounds like a lot of fun! *g*
