(no subject)

This is for those of you who paid more attention than I did in Poly Sci and U.S. Government classes.

Can we impeach a president based on stupidity?

Unfortunately, no. Stupidity comes under the heading of "acts of god" and not "high crimes and misdemeanors."

I cannot believe we (not you, not me, but most of the people who voted) elected this man. It kills me.

Well. We could try to justify it as criminal neglect or something. Or, you know, catch him in a lie and impeach him over that. It's how they got Clinton. Or we could get Bush to veto something, then have Congress override it, and then have Bush try to go against the thing anyway, and have Congress impeach him over that.

But, otherwise.... no.

I say if horniness can get a president impeached, then so should negligence and willful and wanton disregard for the preparedness of the nation.

Unfortunately, what I say doesn't matter too much.

Yet.

My favorite quote of his today, re: Hurricane Rita, was 'This is another big storm', or something to that effect, because, yeah, without him we might never have figured that out. Idiot.

I think the bigger worry is about the stupidity of those who actually voted for him!

This is very true!

And I remember seeing a headline online that said that he was going to "keep an eye on the storm" (or something like that) and my first thought was "how the hell's he going to do that? and what good will it do?"
